Project: Youth Workers 4 Global Goals

Background

In September 2015, the General Assembly of United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Building on the principle of “leaving no one behind”, the new Agenda emphasizes a holistic approach to achieving sustainable development for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice.

Youth Workers 4 Global Goals (YW4GG) was an initiative that aimed to activate youth workers from Europe and Latin America to contribute towards the achievement of the SDGs. YW4GG through a complete cycle of raising awareness of SDGs, use of ICT tools, training course, job shadowing and evaluating allowed youth workers to identify entry-points in working with youth around the SDGs and contribute to the achievement of SDGs in the sphere of youth involvement.
