In September 2015, the General Assembly of United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Building on the principle of “leaving no one behind”, the new Agenda emphasizes a holistic approach to achieving sustainable development for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice.
Youth Workers 4 Global Goals (YW4GG) was an initiative that aimed to activate youth workers from Europe and Latin America to contribute towards the achievement of the SDGs. YW4GG through a complete cycle of raising awareness of SDGs, use of ICT tools, training course, job shadowing and evaluating allowed youth workers to identify entry-points in working with youth around the SDGs and contribute to the achievement of SDGs in the sphere of youth involvement.
YW4GG was implemented through 3 phases:-First phase -December 2019 to February 2021: Setting-up of the project, Kickoff meeting, development of e-learning modules contents, innovation competition. Of course, this phase lasted more due to COVID-19.-Second phase -March 2021 – October 2021: Running of Training course and Job shadowing activities-Third phase -September 2021 to November 2021: Design of project Guide, local activities, project evaluation phase, final meeting & closure.
