Beach Guardians Environmental Awareness and Democratic Participation

Our recent Erasmus+ training course “Beach Guardians Environmental Awareness and Democratic Participation” in Calabria, Italy, was an incredible experience to learn more about environmental issues, ocean life, and climate justice. This program, supported by Erasmus+, brought together participants from diverse backgrounds, fostering a rich cultural exchange and deepening our understanding of global environmental challenges.

During this experience, we engaged in intensive workshops and field activities, for example, cleaning the beaches. We explored firsthand about marine biodiversity, the impact of pollution, and strategies for conservation and sustainability.

The discussions and activities equipped us with practical knowledge and empowered us to advocate for meaningful change in our communities. Through non-formal education activities, we gained insights into innovative solutions aimed at addressing climate change and promoting environmental justice.

One of the most rewarding aspects of our exchange was the opportunity to interact with participants from different countries. The cultural diversity enriched our learning experience, sparking lively discussions and inspiring new ideas. This opportunity was possible thanks to Erasmus+, a European Union initiative that supports education, training, youth, and sport through mobility opportunities, strategic partnerships, and policy cooperation. It aims to foster personal development, enhance skills, and promote cultural exchange among participants across Europe and beyond.
