Interview – Debora Dimova (Asociación EuropeYou)

Debora participated in the Training Course Social Entrepreneurship 4 ALL” organized by ASUL in Málaga area, Spain

Hello Debora! Can you give us your opinion about the project “Social Entrepreneurship 4 ALL?
For me, the project was really great experience to learn new knowledge on the topic as well share good practices with the other participants. I think that the group was very interesting and balance. There were participants who already have their own social enterprises as well youngsters interested to open their new social businesses. All team building and group activities were really productive since we could learn from each other and discuss in details different aspects related to social entrepreneurship. In addition, the intercultural aspect of the training was very positive, since we had a chance to share more about our cultures, visions and beliefs.

What is the most important thing you have learned during the project?
Working in groups, once again gave me the chance to realize how important is to communicate with more and more people that can contribute to the development of your ideas as well give you the right motivation to keep doing what you do and complete your objectives. During one of the sessions, we were talking about the blocks to creative thinking and the positive part of the “negative experience” and “failure”. The discussion that follow after both examples, was really good one and made me think more about the crucial role they have in all we do and create. To end, I would like to add that I really liked the idea of learning through non formal education.

How can Social Entrepreneurship contribute to Society?
I believe our society need more social entrepreneurs that can contribute to our life. Social enterprises can provide employment opportunities for vulnerable groups as well contribute to the social and economic development of the country. Through innovative ideas and dedication, social entrepreneurs can create economical values and social satisfaction, bringing direct positive effects for beneficiaries.

How social entrepreneurs are changing the world?
It´s always good to hear about entrepreneurs and their successful business, but it´s impressive to learn about people who use their know-how, skills and business knowledge to make the world a better place. These people not just care about their own profit. They have their social mission and desire to contribute and change the society, finding sustainable solutions to some of the world’s toughest problems. Social entrepreneurs can influence other people to go out into the world and have a positive impact, as well impact others to start something that really matters.
